ARC261 Concordance No. 2
Start a new project and save it to your H: drive as "2008 04 26 Concordance No. 2"
1. Open the sample file (to do this click on Concordance No. 2 (April 26, 2008) example sheet on the web site) and draw the two story building following the dimensions shown, and using a three-wythe solid brick wall on the first floor and a two-wythe brick wall on the second floor. Note that the bay with the round end is only one story tall and has a two-wythe brick exterior wall.
2. You will need to make two new wall types, one for the three-wythe brick wall and one for the two-wythe brick wall. As an example, the two wythe brick wall will consist of the following elements: 3 5/8" thick brick, 3/8" mortar joint, 3 5/8" thick brick, 3/4" thick wood furring, 3/4" thick plaster.
3. The main roof has a 12/12 slope and is made of a generic 12" roof.
4. The roof over the round end bay has a 4/12 slope.
5. Both roofs have a 2'-0" overhang. Both roofs have gutters. Both roofs are consructed of a "Roofing - Asphalt Shingle" applied on the top material and has an applied surface pattern of "Model" type - "Shake - 6" (you will need to make this roof type).
6. Two of the gable ends have a Frank Lloyd Wright type projecting prow roof gable. Make this by deleting the roof lines parallel to the wall and drawing in a new one that is not parallel to the wall and mirroring it to the other side of the bay (use the "axis" method to find the center of the bay when mirroring), then trimming the edges. The gables ends of the roof "do not define a slope"
7. Install a gutter around all eaves at the top of the fascia.
8. Put a variety of windows and doors on both floors. Use some double-hung and some casement windows. Use both swing and overhead sectional door types.
9. Place a floor at the second floor level - Wood truss joist 12" with carpet finish (this is one of the standard floor types).
10. Create a sheet using the standard "E" sized sheet.
11. Create a perspective view using a camera, shade it and cast shadows.
12. Drag the perspective view onto the sheet.
13. Drag the first floor plan, one elevation and the site plan onto the sheet. Turn off the view titles on the sheet. Turn off the levels in the elevation. Turn off the elevation marks in the first floor plan and site plan.
14. Label the titleblock and print the sheet on the default B-sized printer at 11" x 17" size.
15. In addition to handing in your printed sheet to the professor, email the drawing to fheitzma@triton.edu
